Rs 163 crore credited to accounts through online payments

Computerisation of treasury offices in Punjab has ensured that online payments of more than Rs 7,281 crore were disbursed to than 14 lakh beneficiaries in first quarter.

Computerisation of treasury offices in Punjab has ensured that online payments of more than Rs 7,281 crore were disbursed to than 14 lakh beneficiaries in first quarter.

Irrigation Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon said, "Through the recently implemented system of online payments to various department and authorities, in addition to the salaries of government employees, Bathinda has credited Rs 164 crore in three months."

Sekhon claimed that the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) had been implemented in the state.

"In Bathinda 57,292 people were benefitted from this scheme."

"E-payment system has been implemented in all government offices/departments where transactions are done through treasury offices.From July 1, 2013 Punjab has set a new milestone and has taken a big leap to a paperless office."
