RSS secretary found dead near railway track in Jalandhar

31-year-old Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) secretary (Shakha Karyawah) of Jalandhar’s Company Bagh Chowk branch was found dead near Sodal railway crossing late night on Wednesday.

The government railway police (GRP) found Kishore Kumar with a severe head injury. While family members are suspecting it to be murder, GRP termed it a railway accident where “the victim died after being run over by a running train”.

A GRP official said a leg of the deceased was crushed and detached from the body by the train.

Police have found a mobile phone and wallet with the deceased, ruling out the possibility of theft. Kumar is survived by wife Sonu and a seven-year-old daughter. Resident of Saida Gate area, the RSS activist originally belonged to Rajasthan. Meanwhile, his brother Pawan Kumar has alleged was killed in a cold-blooded murder.

Station house officer Baldev Singh, however, said that till now they had found no suspect in the case. GRP Jalandhar has registered a case under Section 173 of CrPc.

Kishore has been associated with RSS since childhood. The family on Thursday has submitted an application with the GRP to investigate it as a murder case.
