SAD claims Muslim support

SAD-BJP candidate for the Patiala Urban bypoll Bhagwan Das Juneja on Friday claimed to have gained the support of the muslim community in the city, after a meeting with members of the community, which decided to favor him.

Thanking the community leaders for their support, Juneja said he would ensure the welfare of the people and the city's development with support from SAD-BJP government.

Meanwhile Punjab health minister and senior BJP leader Surjit Kumar Jiyani lashed out at the Congress party and its nominee Preneet Kaur questioning her performance in the past 15 years.

"Preneet cared for her own progress and prosperity and did nothing for the residents of the city. The royal family is responsible for lack of development in the city. Captain Amarinder Singh failed to do anything for the Patiala constituency," he said.
