
SAD meeting on Talwandi Sabo bypoll today
With stakes high for the ruling SAD during assembly bypolls scheduled to be held on August 21, a meeting of party leaders of as many as 10 districts has been convened here on Tuesday to prepare strategy for the Talwandi Sabo bypoll.
District unit president of SAD and rural development minister Sikandar Singh Maluka, on Monday, said that the meeting will be attended by SAD ministers, chief parliamentary secretaries, MLAs, former MLAs, halqa in-charges, members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, district unit presidents of SAD and BJP and other senior party leaders.
SAD leaders of districts including Bathinda, Mansa, Barnala, Amritsar, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Tarn Taran and Gurdaspur will take part in the meeting that will be chaired by SAD president and deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Maluka said that the main agenda of the meeting is to prepare a strategy for Talwandi Sabo byelection and duties will be assigned to leaders for this purpose in the meeting.
