Scholars, actors, singers participatein 'Bhag Baddi Bhag' runathon

The IEC University management in collaboration with Reliance Mutual Funds organised a 'Bhag Baddi Bhag' runathon to make the participants and people aware about the importance of good health at Baddi on Friday.

The IEC University management in collaboration with Reliance Mutual Funds organised a 'Bhag Baddi Bhag' runathon to make the participants and people aware about the importance of good health at Baddi on Friday.

Besides, academicians, industrialists, senior citizens, Punjabi folk singer Manjot Singh and actor Divya Dutta also participated in the event.

The race was flagged off by food, civil supplies and consumer affairs minister GS Bali and IEC University chancellor RL Gupta in presence of renowned Punjabi singer Jasbir Singh Jassi, Divya Dutta, 'Oye Lucky Oye' fame Manjot Singh and 'Hazaron Khawaishe Aisi' fame Yashpal Sharma.

Speaking on the occasion, Bali said health ailments and environment complications were one of the biggest challenges that India was facing, adding there was a need to take initiatives to deal with these problems.

The marathon started and culminated on the IEC campus after covering a distance of 7 km - to Mandhala village bridge.

Later, Jassi enthralled the audience with his popular numbers.

Congratulating the winners, vice-chancellor Naveen Gupta said our body and mind could function actively only when both were healthy. Running was the best way to keep stress and anxieties at bay and easy way to keep healthy and fit, he added.
