The Nakodar sadar police have booked seven persons on the charges of voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons, criminal conspiracy and rioting.

Paramjit Singh Pamma, a resident of Mallian Khurd village, complained to police that Babbu, a resident of Meheru village; Sukhdev, Sohan Singh and Manga, residents of Mallian Khurd village; Jinda, a resident of Gillan village; Heppu, a resident of Ucha village; and one Pandit and their unidentified accomplices came in three vehicles on November 19 and attacked him at the village bus stand, in which he was seriously injured.

He was rushed to the Nakodar civil hospital from where he was shifted to a Jalandhar hospital.
He said some old dispute was the reason behind the assault.

Station house officer (SHO) Dilbag Singh said a case under sections 323, 324, 325 and 326 (voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons), 148 and 149 (rioting) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the accused, who were absconding, and raids were being conducted to nab them.
