Shimla: HPU makes NET compulsory for lecturers' recruitment

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) executive council (EC), the highest decision making body of the university, on Wednesday made national eligibility test (NET) as an essential requirement for recruitment of lecturers in college and university in the state.

The EC also referred the report of high-powered committee regarding fee hike in HPU to the finance committee. Sources said that the committee had pointed out the hike and recommended to slash the slabs, which was not acceptable for the university keeping grim finances in view.

Now the finance committee will give its final opinion about the report and recommendations of high-powered committee constituted in September last year and which had submitted the report in October.
