Snow, rains predicted for higher reaches in Himachal Pradesh

Even as dry weather continues to prevail in Himachal, the weather department has predicted snow and rain in the next 24 hours in the state.

Even as dry weather continues to prevail in Himachal, the weather department has predicted snow and rain in the next 24 hours in the state.

Shimla meteorological centre has predicted rains and snow in the higher and middle reaches in the next 24 hours.

The minimum temperature in Shimla was recorded at 3 °Celsius, with the maximum temperature decreasing by 3 ° to 9.9 °Celsius. Temperature in Sundernagar dropped to 3.3 °Celsius at night while it was 3 °Celsius in Bhuntar, -1.4 °Celsius in Kalpa, 6.4 °Celsius in Dharamshala, 8.2 °Celsius in Una, 7.7 °Celsius in Nahan.

Keylong was the coldest in the state at -6.4 °Celsius. The cold hit other places in the state too: Dalhousie 3°Celsius, Solan 2.5 °Celsius, Chamba 3.9 °Celsius, Manali 0.6°Celsius and Kangra 2.7 °Celsius.

“Due to fresh western disturbance, rain and snow is predicted in the higher-altitude areas,” Shimla meteorological centre director Manmohan Singh said.
