Earlier, the ruling party had staged a dharna along road side against the “double standards” of Kejriwal on the contentious issue.

“Kejriwal opposed construction of the SYL canal when he was in Punjab and spoke in favour of water for all when he was in Delhi. When the issue came up for hearing before the Supreme Court, the Delhi government filed an affidavit favouring Haryana, betraying all the Punjabis,” Mathithia said while addressing SAD workers.

The cabinet minister alleged that the Delhi CM is an expert in telling lies cleverly.

He also lashed out at him by holding him responsible for demolition of water kiosk (piao) at gurdwara Sees Ganj in Delhi. Bajithia compared the move with Operation Bluestar launched by the-then Congress government at the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

Akali stalwart Vir Singh Lopoke, SGPC members Rajinder Singh Mehta, Bhai Ram Singh, Gurpartap Singh Tikka, and Navdeep Singh Goldy were present. The SAD workers were also seen carrying banners which had the slogans against Kejriwal.
