Nearby districts have already organised such an event for the Indian contingent ten days ago. The DSO organised a race with slogan ‘Run for Rio- Khelo and Jiyo’ at Polo Ground Sports Complex, here on Friday.
The two kilometre race event failed to attract the crowds and ended with the low turnout as few children from school and colleges took part in it.
“We should have organised this function at the start of the olympics in the support of our players. Now, it reflects that how much we are concerned about the sports,’’ a senior coach said.
