Three arrested, 1-kg heroin seized

Tarn Taran police on Thursday claimed to have arrested three persons and recovered one-kg heroin from their possession. The suspects have been identified as Rajwinder Singh, Saraj Singh and Daljit Singh.

Addressing mediapersons, Tarn Taran SSP KS Dhillon said the suspects were arrested while checking at various locations.

Dhillon further said he would soon request senior officials to take up the matter with BSF to launch a joint search operation on lands across the fence. Dhillon added: "There is a need that area ahead of the fence is searched. I will take up the matter with my seniors so that a joint search operation with BSF is launched." In the past also seizures have been made from area across the fence and this search will definitely help, he said.
