Seetu (8), Khushi (8) and Simran (3) are residents of Majitha Road bypass area. The police have registered a case against one Gobind, their neighbour, but have failed to trace the girls.

Poonam, mother of the children, said, "I come from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pardesh and have been living in the city for the past few years. Gobind had recently rented a place next to ours. On Monday, when I was out for work, Gobind took away my three daughters."

Poonam, who works as a labourer, said they had no enmity with Gobind and failed to understand why he abducted her girls.

The police claim to have rounded up a relative of Gobind's. According to the police, Gobind hails from Bihar.

Talking to HT, police commissioner Ram Singh said a case had been registered and they were conducting raids to trace the children.

Poonam said she had not received any call from Gobind.

In another case, the police have registered a case against three persons for allegedly abducting a minor girl.

In a complaint to the police, her uncle Resham Singh alleged, "On October 25, when his niece Gurjit Kaur was walking in the street, three men, Sukh, Ranjit Singh and Harpal, came there in a car and abducted her."
