Two crushed to death in accident

Two men were killed and one was seriously injured in an accident that occurred near Subhanpur on Saturday morning. The deceased were identified as Kewal Krishan Mahajan, 61, of Shivala Nagar, Amritsar and his nephew Nitesh Gupta, 27, from Jammu.

Two men were killed and one was seriously injured in an accident that occurred near Subhanpur on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Kewal Krishan Mahajan, 61, of Shivala Nagar, Amritsar and his nephew Nitesh Gupta, 27, from Jammu.

Their injured relative, Nirmal Kumar, has been admitted to a hospital in Amritsar.

The police said the accident occurred at around 6 am near a bridge in Subhanpur when a truck loaded with cement bags hit the Figo car the victims were traveling in.

The car fell from the bride and the truck fell over it crushing the two occupants of the car.

After verification, the police handed over the bodies to Naveen Mahajan, the son of Krishan.

Naveen told the police that his father was on his way to Haridwar to visit a religious place.

The truck driver, identified as Malkiat Singh from Jabbowal near Tangra, escaped unhurt, and fled from the spot.

The police have registered a case against the driver.
