Two get 10-year jail in drug trafficking cases

Local courts on Monday sentenced to 10-year imprisonment two persons in two different cases of drug trafficking. The court of additional sessions judge Avtar Singh sentenced to 10-year imprisonment Parma Singh of Raia village and imposed a fine of `1 lakh.

Local courts on Monday sentenced to 10-year imprisonment two persons in two different cases of drug trafficking. The court of additional sessions judge Avtar Singh sentenced to 10-year imprisonment Parma Singh of Raia village and imposed a fine of `1 lakh.

Failing to pay the fine, he will have to undergo six-month additional imprisonment. The convict was nabbed with banned drugs on August 19, 2012 by Phul police and a case under the NDPS Act was registered against him.

In another case, the court of additional sessions judge Mohinderpal Singh Pahwa sentenced to 10-year imprisonment Rajupal Singh, a resident of Hajiratan chowk in the city and imposed a fine of `1 lakh on him. Failing to pay the fine, he will have to undergo one year additional imprisonment. The convict was nabbed with banned drugs by a team of the Civil Lines police station with banned drugs on April 26, 2012.
