Undertrail caught with mobile phone

The central jail authorities conducted a check and recovered a mobile phone set from an undertrial identified as Bhagel Singh, a resident of Rajpura.

The central jail authorities conducted a check and recovered a mobile phone set from an undertrial identified as Bhagel Singh, a resident of Rajpura.

The undertrial, along with another prisoner, Darshan Lal, had been brought to the central jail on production warrants in connection with a case registered against them. The two were lodged in Patiala central jail.

The mobile phone set was hidden under the pillow of the accused. On the instructions of the jail authorities, a case has been registered under the relevant clauses of the IPC against the undertrial at the Cantonment police station. Further investigations are on to establish from where Bhagel Singh got the phone set.
