Gangster Vicky Gounder’s key aide, who operates social media, arrested

In yet another breakthrough, police has arrested Inderjit Sandhu, one of key aides of gangster Vicky Gounder. The accused was operating the social media accounts of the Vicky Gounder gang.
In fact, he was arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport, when he was planning to leave Jordon on basis of a Fake passport. He had travelled to Canada and other countries, on different fake passports.
The accused identified as Inderjit Singh Sandhu of Sangatpur village, Taran Tarn was held by the police in Delhi, and brought to Patiala.
The accused was handling some Facebook profiles of notorious gangsters Harjinder Singh @Vicky Gonder and Shera Khuban Group and had been repeatedly using this platform for issuing threats/statements on the behalf of the gangsters.
In a video post dated August 3, 2017, he issued death threats to Vishal Kumar of Himachal Pardesh and Amrit Bal on behalf of notorious gangster Vicky Gonder. In addition, on several occasions in the past the accused had travelled on fake Passports from India to various destinations abroad and vice versa, informed Inspector Bikramjit Singh Brar.
Patiala Police had earlier issued a Look out corner (LOC) notice against Sandhu and a case was registered against him on October 23 in police station Sadar Rajpura under relevant sections of robbery, theft, extortion, rioting, criminal conspiracy along with Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) and Arms act.
Police told they received a tip-off that the accused was travelling from Jordan (a country in the Middle East) to New Delhi on a fake passport on the name of one Gurjant Singh. The accused was arrested in a case registered on December 13 under sections 419, 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under section 12 of the Passports Act registered at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Terminal 3, New Delhi.
Accused close aide of Gounder; mastermind in Nabha Jail Break case: Police
Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dr S. Boopathi told the accused Inderjit Singh Sandhu is one of the close associates of Punjab’s most wanted gangster Vicky Gounder.
The accused was one of the masterminds of the Nabha Jail break Case and was instrumental in providing logistical support, managing finances and providing hideouts to the gangsters involved in the Nabha Jail break Case. Inderjit Singh Sandhu is involved in number of heinous crimes (extortion, drugs, gunrunning etc.) registered across the State of Punjab.
“He was involved in the Nabha Jail Break case with gangsters Vicky Gounder, Prema Lahoriya and Kulpreet Singh alias Neeta Deol. Sandhu was one of the masterminds in the jail break case and was instrumental in providing logistics, managing finances and providing hideouts to these gangsters,’’ said SSP Boopathi.
Police further told that the accused is also involved in number of heinous crimes across Punjab. ‘’With his arrest, we will try to gather some more inputs related to the jail break case. The custodial interrogation of the accused is likely to throw significant light on the jail break conspiracy as well as the other heinous crimes committed by him,’’ added the SSP. The accused was produced in a local court on Wednesday which remanded him in three-day police custody.
