Woman, son killed in Ludhiana roof collapse
A pregnant woman and her two-year-old son were killed when the boundary wall of a factory adjoining their house collapsed following rainstorm and the debris fell on the roof in Model Colony here on Friday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Nisha (28), who was three months pregnant, and Kalu. Nisha's four-year-old daughter Guddu was lucky to escape with some injuries as she was playing in the verandah when the incident happened. She has been admitted to hospital, where her condition is said to be stable. Nisha's husband Satish, a factory labourer, was not at home then.
Neighbours called the police and tried their best to rescue Nisha and her children.
Meharban police station SHO sub-inspector Surjit Singh Nagra said they would take appropriate action against the factory owner after investigating the matter.
