His family members said Choudhary and his son had objected to sexual advances made by one Arbind Kumar Chandravanshi.

“On a number of occasions, the family had warned the accused who was teasing the minor girl to mend his ways. Both sides had heated altercation over the issue,” said Palamu deputy superintendent of police, Heera Lal Ravi.

“A named FIR against Chandravanshi and his accomplices has been lodged. Raids are being conducted to nab them. The accused had a criminal past,” said the DSP. “The assailant actually wanted to kill the girl’s brother but on not finding him, they killed the father,” he added.
