It’s not quite sure yet if Akshara and Vikram will play a pair in the film, which is slated to go on the floors soon after the latter wraps up the shoot of Saamy Square.

It was previously reported that Vikram is in talks for a yet-untitled Tamil project with director Rajesh M Selva in Kamal Haasan’s production. After weeks of speculation, Haasan on Saturday officially announced the project on Twitter and wrote: ““My best wishes to Mr. Vikram, Ms. Akshara Haasan, director Rajesh M Selva and Trident Arts who are joining hands with Raajkamal Films International to produce a film. Let’s endeavour to make it a grand success.” It’s not quite sure yet if Akshara and Vikram will play a pair in the film, which is slated to go on the floors soon after the latter wraps up the shoot of Saamy Square.

According to a recent Times of India report, the film is believed to be a remake of a French film. “The team had originally planned to announce this project on January 1, but since Vikram’s father passed away on December 31, they had put off the announcement as a mark of respect to the actor.” There are also reports that the film could be a remake of Hollywood thriller Don’t Breathe, which not long ago was planned with Vikram. However, sources from Haasan’s camp have denied the reports. This film, according to them, is definitely not a remake of Don’t Breathe. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised.

It’s going to be an exciting year for Vikram, who was recently signed on for Rs. 300 crore magnum opus Mahavir Karna, to be directed by RS Vimal, best known for Ennu Ninte Moideen. The project will go on the floors from October this year and the release is planned for December 2019. To be majorly shot it Hindi; the film will be a multi-lingual project and will feature actors across industries. Vikram also has Gautham Menon’s spy thriller Dhruva Natchathiram in his kitty this year.
