Another blow for Queen’s south remake, Amy Jackson walks out

The latest report is that Amy Jackson, who was roped in to play Lisa Haydon’s part in Queen’s south remake, has opted out of the project.

Ever since the southern remake of Vikas Bahl’s critically-acclaimed film Queen was announced, the project has faced several setbacks. Originally announced with Tamannaah Bhatia across all the four languages, the makers were in for a shock when she backed out. However, she joined back the project for its Telugu version after the project changed hands from its original producer.

While the Tamil version which is titled Paris Paris stars Kajal Aggarwal in the titular role, Manjima Mohan and Parul Yadav star in the lead in Malayalam and Kannada versions respectively. The latest report is that Amy Jackson, who was roped in to play Lisa Haydon’s part, has opted out of the project.

Talking to DNA, the 2.0 actress said: “I really wanted to be a part of the project. It’s a fun, fierce role. I loved Lisa’s role in the Hindi version and thought I could do justice to it for the remake.” She expressed unavailability of dates as the reason for opting out. Amy says, “It didn’t work out because of the schedule for Supergirl. It didn’t work out creatively.” Amy will be playing Saturn Girl in the superhero drama series, and she recently joined the sets for shoot.

Actor-filmmaker Ramesh Aravind is helming the Kannada and Tamil versions of the remake. National award-winning director Neelakanta is directing the Telugu and Malayalam versions of the film.
