Arvind Swami also praised director of Naragasooran, Karthick Naren.

Actor Arvind Swami had a busy 2017 as he shot for four Tamil films including Sathuranga Vettai 2, Bhaskar Oru Rascal, Vanangamudi and Naragasooran. His sole release of the year was Bogan, in which he shared screen space with Jayam Ravi for the second time after the 2015 smash hit Thani Oruvan. On Saturday, Arvind opened up about his career and future plans in a Twitter chat with his fans. He has revealed that he might don the director’s hat in 2018.

Answering a fan’s question on whether he has directorial plans, Arvind said, “Hopefully, in 2018.” He also said “expect the unexpected” when asked what kind of director would we see. Although he remained tight-lipped about Mani Ratnam’s next project, a multi-starrer with Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Fahadh Faasil, Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh; he said that he’s looking forward to working with everybody.

Arvind recently completed shooting for Karthick Naren’s Naragasooran, which also stars Indrajith Sukumaran, Sundeep Kishan and Shriya Saran. Talking about Karthick, he said that he’s a filmmaker with a lot of potential and Naragasooran will be a film that’ll be talked about. Last seen in Telugu film Dhruva, Arvind clarified his focus right now is only on Tamil films. When a fan asked when he will do Telugu films again, he said, “I will surely dub the movies that I have done in Telugu.”
