Allu Arjun is giving it his all for Naa Peru Surya, in which he plays a military officer. On the verge of completion, the makers are currently canning important scenes in and around Kashmir, braving extreme weather conditions. “The temperature is as low as minus 12 degrees. The team was ready to shift shooting destination to Darjeeling due to the weather, but Arjun suggested that they shoot in Kashmir as it’d look more authentic. It’s a week-long schedule and after which the team will head to Hyderabad to complete the remainder of the shoot,” a source from the film’s unit told Hindustan Times.

The team was looked after by Indian Army when they were shooting near Kashmir LoC. On Monday, producer Bunny Vas took to Facebook and wrote: “We are thankful to Indian Army for taking care of us during the shoot in Kashmir LOC. On Wednesday, we shoot a song near Srinagar.”

Being directed by Vakkantham Vamsi, Naa Peru Surya is believed to be the story of a military officer with anger issues. Arjun underwent month-long training with a US-based trainer to authentically look and play a military officer. “He had to work closely with a trainer to achieve the desired body for the role. As a military officer, he is expected to look a certain way and be extremely fit,” the source said. The film marks the first-time collaboration of Arjun and Vamsi, known for penning successful Telugu films such as Kick and Temper among others.

Bollywood composers Vishal-Shekhar are working on the tunes, while popular cinematographer-filmmaker Rajeev Ravi is cranking the camera for the project. Tipped to be a patriotic-action film, the film is being jointly produced by Sirisha Lagadapati Sridhar and presented by Nagababu. Naa Peru Surya, which is gearing up for April 27 release, also stars Anu Emmanuel, Arjun Sarja and Sarath Kumar.
