Dhanush’s upcoming film Vada Chennai is a three part film directed by Vetrimaaran and the teaser of the film was released on Saturday, which was also Dhanush’s birthday. The teaser gives us a look film’s pivotal characters. This part of the film focuses on Dhanush’s younger days and how became a crime lord from a carrom player.

Aishwarya Rajesh and Dhanush’s chemistry is effervescent and they look absolutely at ease in the teaser. There is also a hint of Andrea Jermiah falling for Dhanush in the teaser. A dialogue in the trailer goes, “this war will not end with the death of just one person,” which may mark the beginning of bloodshed in the film.

After successful collaborations like Polladhavan and Aadukalam, Vetrimaaran and Dhanush are back again to give us a movie based in North Madras. From men flashing sharp-long knives to small houses, Veda Chennai also uses a lot of stereotypes associated with this part of the world. A particular image that remains with the audience after watching the teaser is Dhanush hiding a long knife in his back pocket.

Produced by Wunderbar Films in association with Lyca Productions, Vada Chennai also stars Samuthirakani, Daniel Balaji in pivotal roles. The music for this film is composed by Kaala fame Santhosh Narayanan. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
