Kaatru Veliyidai: Karthi shaves off his stubble

Karthi has sported a bearded look in most of his film avatars. However, for Kaatru Veliyidai, he has gone off his beard.

Actor Karthi, who has often sported a stubble in the past, will be seen sporting a clean-shaven look in filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s upcoming Tamil romantic-drama Kaatru Veliyidai. However, he will also be seen sporting a stubble in some crucial scenes.

“Karthi is currently shooting in a clean-shaven look. For nearly 60 per cent of the film, he will be seen in this avatar. In some important portions, he will also be seen sporting a stubble,” said a source from the film’s unit.

“In the Chennai schedule, two songs and some crucial scenes were canned. One of the songs featured a Holi sequence and it was shot at a specially erected set in Binny Mills. Another song featuring Rukmini Vijayakumar was shot in Victoria Hall,” the source said.

Also starring Aditi Rao Hydari, Delhi Ganesh, Shraddha Srinath, RJ Balaji and veteran Malayalam actress Lalitha, Kaatru Veliyidai features Karthi in the role of a pilot.

Aditi will be seen playing a doctor in the film, which has music by double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman.
