Dhanush’s YouTube hit may have got the country hooked onto Tamil, but the south star’s appearance on the small screen recently also inspired some multi-lingual renditions of his popular track, Kolaveri Di.

At the grand finale of Star Ya Rockstar, the three reality show contestants, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Kapil Sharma and Manasi Parekh, who are competing for the winning title, tested their vocal skills by belting out innovative spin-offs of the song.

It was Dhanush-Anirudh’s Kolavari collaboration started the trend. Then Manasi followed up with a Gujarati version, while Kapil Sharma mashed up a Punjabi Kolaveri Di. Another contestant Sumeet Raghavan performed his own version poking fun at the show’s anchor Mona Singh with lyrics like ‘Why does Mona wear only Saree?’ Watch it today at 8.30pm.
