Pa Ranjith thanks Rajinikanth for making him the voice of the people in Kaala
Director Pa Ranjith has thanked actor Rajinikanth for letting him be a part of Kaala even after Kabali failed to do well at the box office.
The audio launch of Rajinikanth’s Kaala was held in Chennai on Wednesday. The mega event saw registered attendance him the leading cast and crew.
Director Pa Ranjith spoke about his lead star Rajinikanth at the event, thanking him for opportunity. Pa Ranjith and Rajinikanth had earlier worked with Rajinikanth in Kabali, which received mixed reaction from fans.
Ranjith said he was grateful to the actor for giving him the space to speak about equality. He said, “I thank Rajinikanth for giving me the space that I wanted to work in. I was worried that I might lose it after the mixed reactions that I got for Kabali. He wanted to work on a commercial film, and yet today we have Kaala.”
He also added, “I do not want to work on a film that is cinematic. I want to use cinema as a medium that is used as a way to voice out people’s problem. I feel Rajinikanth’s voice is the most powerful and I wanted to use it.”
He also spoke about producer Dhanush and said,” Dhanush has been the most encouraging person since the time I met him for this project, till date. He is the reason why the film has come this far today.”
Kaala also stars Nana Patekar, Pankaj Tripathi, Huma Qureshi and Easwari Rao in pivotal roles. The film is slated to release on June 7.
