Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor’s controversial film Padmaavat will be released in Tamil and Telugu as well, and the trailer of the Tamil film was released by the leading lady of the film, Deepika Padukone. The trailer promises audiences grandeur and breathtaking visuals, which is director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s forte.
Seeing that the film made headlines all through 2017, it would also fascinate an individual to know what the fuss is all about. The Hindi original is currently banned in four north Indian states, and the makers have filed an appeal at the Supreme Court to allow the film’s release in these states.
Witness the epic tale #PadmaavatInTamil on 25th January in 2D & 3D!Now also in Telugu & IMAX 3D (Hindi)! @filmPadmaavat @RanveerOfficial @shahidkapoor @Viacom18Movies @Bhansali_Prod @TSeries https://t.co/z6QhW9LKGf— Deepika Padukone (@deepikapadukone) January 17, 2018
The film was initially supposed to release on December 1 as Padmavati. However, in the face of massive protests by right-wing organisations and delay in certification by Central Board of Film Certification, the makers decided to delay the release of the film. The protests against the release of the film also came to a point where Deepika was threatened and abused by Karni Sena members on air. The film was certified in January by the CBFC with a suggested title change and five modifications.
Even now, the problem is not solved. Just a few days ago, members of fringe group Rajput Karni Sena are demanding a nationwide ban on the film. The makers on Monday issued a full page ad in dailies saying that the film is an ode to Rajput pride and valour.
