Priya Prakash Varrier dismisses rumours of linkup with Oru Adaar Love co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof
In a recent interview, wink sensation Priya Prakash Varrier has spoken about her relationship with Oru Adaar Love co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof.
Actor Priya Prakash Varrier, who hit the limelight in February 2018 as the wink girl, has spoken about rumours linking her with Oru Adaar Love co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof. Speaking to Zoom TV, she said that she shared a certain rapport with Roshan as they are each other’s first co-actors and are of the same age.
She said: “It’s natural that when you act for the first time in a film, you would share a certain rapport with your co-star, who is also a first timer and of the same age. It makes both of us comfortable and learn from our mistakes, without being stressed about our performances.” Both Priya and Roshan made their film debut with the said film.
Reacting to a question on the rumours about their alleged link-up, she said: “Rumours are, after all, rumours, and it will fade out once the reality sets in.” In fact, on Roshan’s birthday in April, Priya had left a long note, thanking him for being there for her. It was this post, according to Zoom, that set tongues wagging.
She had written: “I’m not really good with words. But today I’d like to thank you for everything that you’ve done for me.You are the only one who always stood by me no matter what. You risked yourself for that each and every time. I don’t think I can ever make it up to you.But I want you to know how much you mean to me.Ummm you already know that your worth is beyond these words. So, I wish you all the luck in life.Keep shining for me and stay blessed.I promise to do my bit to keep that smile wide on your face always. And finally I promise to promise you all the promises.”
In February last year, a song called Manikya Malaraya Poovi from a Malayalam film Oru Adaar Love was released online. Almost immediately, the video went viral and the reason was a scene where Priya’s character flirtatiously winks at Roshan’s character. Priya was christened the ‘wink’ girl. However, the film ran into controversy after some Muslim groups objected to the song as they found the lyrics “offensive” and had allegedly hurt the religious sentiment of the community.
