Rajinikanth 2.0 out now on Nov 29, Akshay Kumar confirms new release date
Akshay Kumar has shared a new poster of Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0, which revealed that the film will release on November 29, 2018.
Akshay Kumar shared a new poster of his character, Crow, from 2.0 and also confirmed the release date of the Rajinikanth-starrer which has been delayed a number of times. The new poster confirmed that the film will now release on November 29 this year, giving the film its fourth release date in about eight months.

Originally slated to hit the screens on April 24, 2.0 is a sequel to Enthiran. The film has been postponed four times now from its initial schedule of December last year. The release date was first changed January 2018, but the makers further pushed it to April 2018. Further, two release dates were being speculated - Independence Day or Diwali weekend but 2.0 now has a new release date, November 29.
The film is likely to clash with Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan’s Kedarnath, another film which has been delayed.
According to reports, the film was postponed owing to heavy VFX work involved. At least 11 studios from across the globe worked on the visual effects. At the film’s audio launch in Dubai, VFX supervisor Srinivas Mohan said that 2.0 is undoubtedly the most challenging project he ever worked on.
The film reportedly features Rajinikanth in a double role — as Dr Vaseegaran and a robot (though we still don’t know what it is called). In Enthiran, the robot was called Chitti. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the love interest in the first part and Amy Jackson will feature opposite Rajinikanth in the sequel. As per media reports, Amy plays a humanoid while Akshay plays the antagonist, Dr Richard, in the upcoming film.
