According to a report in The Hindu, Madras High Court has granted an interim stay on its scheduled released after listening to a complaint filed against the release of the film. Justice K Ravichandrabaabu granted the stay stating there was a prima facie case for the grant of interim injunction.

A film production company Magnum Rays had claimed that Vaalu’s distribution rights for Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages had been sold to them in 2013. However, the film was set for release on July 17 with another distributor.

A sum of Rs 9.53 crore was paid by Magnum Rays for the film on an agreement signed on May 29, 2013, The Hindu added.
