Siva Balaji, Bigg Boss Telugu winner, files complaint over online abuse targetting wife
Siva Balaji, a Tollywood actor and producer, registered a police complaint alleging unidentified people had posted abusive comments against his wife Madhumita, who is also an actor.
Tollywood actor and producer Siva Balaji has lodged a police complaint alleging unidentified people posted “abusive” comments against his actress-wife Madhumita, on a social networking site, a senior official said on Sunday.
The complaint was lodged on Saturday with the Cyberabad Police, he said.
Siva, also the winner of the first season of Bigg Boss Telugu, said some people whom he did not know, made “abusive” comments against his wife on the social networking site and sought action against them, the official, attached with the Cyberabad Crime Branch, said.
“Following the complaint, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act and a probe is underway,” he added.
This is not the first time the couple has had to face harassment online. Some time back, Balaji posted a selfie from the sets of Katamarayudu on Facebook. In response, he had to face abusive comments, after which he approached the police.
Madhumita, who has worked in both Tamil and Telugu films, married Balaji in 2009.
