MUMBAI: Otter Club’s Ariesa Mongia broke the women’s 100m backstroke record to emerge as the best women’s swimmer in the GAF-GMAAA senior and lower age group swimming meet held at Tata Power Swimming Pool (Chembur) on Sunday.

Ariesa clocked 01:13.61 seconds, bettering the 29 year-old record of 01:14.40 seconds set by Persis Madon of Wellingdon Sports Club.

Ariesa ended with one gold and one silver and aggregated 12 points. This was the meet’s second record and the day’s only record set on Sunday.
