EL MONTE (US): India’s Ajay Jayaram lost to Japan’s Kanta Tsuneyama in the semifinals of the US Open Grand Prix Gold badminton. Jayaram, the fourth seed and world No 22, lost 10-21 14-21. The Japanese won 10 points in a row in the first game and raced to win from 14-all in the second.
