MUMBAI: Kumar Rathod’s goal made Oscar Foundation’s super Sunday with a 1-0 win over FC Mumbaikar in the Mumbai District Football Association’s Second Division league at the St Xavier’s ground, Parel.

In another match, Tarun Sporting’s Ajinkya Umasare scored twice and Tabish Mulla and Abdul Dohadwala added one goal each in their 4-2 win over Samuel FA.

Sampada Bhiwandkar pulled off an exciting 13-15, 11-6, 9-11, 13-11, 11-6 win over Trisha Dalmia in the cadet girls’ quarterfinals of the PRO TT-organised 4 Star Vasant Chiplunkar Memorial Table Tennis Tournament at the University Pavilion on Sunday.

SURAJ ADVANCES

HDFC’s Suraj Chandrashekhar got the better of Majesco’s Abhijeet Deshspande 11-9, 11-7, 10-12, 5-12, 11-9 to make the men’s semi-finals in the P3 Sports-organised 3rd Mumbai Inter-Corporate Table Tennis Tournament at Khar Gymkhana.

The women’s event, which was played on league basis, saw Nutan Dhikle emerge victorious followed by Anjali Deube and Isha Shah.
