NEW DELHI: The Justice RM Lodha committee will inform the Supreme Court about the problems it is facing to implement its recommendations to reform the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) administration when it submits the status report on Tuesday.

The Apex court had directed the BCCI to implement Lodha Committee recommendations in its verdict on July 18.

“Hopefully by Tuesday we will file status report. But its contents can’t be shared right now. However, the report is being filed because the committee finds impediments in implementation of the recommendations,” Justice Lodha told HT on Monday.

BCCI’s review petition against the order is still under scrutiny with the Supreme Court.

September 8 was the deadline for BCCI and its state associations to adopt the Memorandum of Association and amend their constitutions. But the Board has called an emergent Special General Meeting only on September 30 to discuss the implementation of the Lodha panel recommendations.

Following Tuesday’s status report, the BCCI may face fresh trouble as point 92 of the July 18 verdict state that: “…the BCCI and all concerned shall cooperate and act in aid of the Committee and its directives. Should any impediment arise, the Committee shall be free to seek appropriate directions from this Court by filing a status report in that regard.”
