GENEVA: An IOC disciplinary commission stripped Ukrainian weightlifter Yulia Kalina of her 2012 Olympic bronze on Wednesday over a doping offence, ordering her to return the medal. Additional analysis of blood tests taken from the 27-year-old during the London Games had tested positive for a prohibited substance, according to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which said Kalina had been disqualified from the 58-kilo category event. It ordered her to return “the bronze medal, the diploma and the medallist pin” she took home from the 2012 Olympics.
