12 I-League clubs put up united front in IPFCA

In a bid to present a collective front in their ongoing discussions with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), 12 of the 14 I-League clubs got together on Saturday to form the Indian Professional Football Clubs Association.

In a bid to present a collective front in their ongoing discussions with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), 12 of the 14 I-League clubs got together on Saturday to form the Indian Professional Football Clubs Association (IPFCA). With the exception of Bangalore's HAL and Pailan Arrows, the developmental team of the AIFF, the other clubs felt the need of presenting a combined entity in the form of the IPFCA.

Jankovic exits
Indian Wells:
Former champion Jelena Jankovic became the first seed to tumble out of the Indian Wells WTA tournament, losing 6-4, 6-3 to American wild card Jamie Hampton in the second round on Friday.

World number one Victoria Azarenka had to work hard to extend her unbeaten record to 18-0 this year, beating Germany's Mona Barthel 6-4, 6-7, 7-6, while 13th-seeded Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova was ousted 6-4, 6-4 by American Vania King.

Arjun Atwal missed yet another cut, failing by one shot at the Puerto Rico Open. Atwal's struggles continued as he shot an even par 72 to total 146, a shot adrift of the cut.
