In the presence of India and Bayern Munich players and before the Audi Football Summit kicks off, Chhetri will be presented with the AIFF Footballer of the Year award for 2011.

“It would be a little ceremony before kick-off with the Bayern and India players lining up when Chhetri is given the award,” said Kushal Das, the AIFF general secretary on Saturday. The award carries a plaque and, for the first time, a cheque of Rs 2 lakh.

This is also the first time the year’s best player has been chosen through votes by coaches of I-League clubs.
