Civil servants in Indonesia's football-mad capital Jakarta have been warned of pay cuts if they turn up late to work during the World Cup.

With games due to be televised into the wee hours of the morning, city spokesman Cucu Ahmad Kurnia said there would be zero tolerance for lateness.

The administration said the workers will be fined 5 per cent of their allowances for every day they are late.
