AC Milan have suffered a blow to their pre-season preparations as star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic twisted his ankle in training, the club revealed today.

AC Milan have suffered a blow to their pre-season preparations as star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic twisted his ankle in training, the club revealed on Tuesday.

Milan said they would evaluate the injury over the coming days but added that they expect the Swede to be fit for their season opener against Cagliari on August 27.

It's the same ankle Ibrahimovic injured in May against Roma in the match in which Milan clinched the Serie A title.
