Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni is set to join the Chinese Super League (CSL) side Guangzhou R and F, a club official confirmed Tuesday.

"We are in final talks with him, and the negotiation is almost done," Lu Yi, vice president of Guangzhou club said.

"The job is 99 percent done. If nothing goes wrong with the final one percent, Yakubu will arrive at Guangzhou this week, and we started doing the registration in the Chinese league for him.”

Shebby is Rovers’ football director

Indian-owned English club Blackburn Rovers today appointed former Malaysian defender and football expert Shebby Singh as their director of football.

The decision to appoint Singh was taken by the club's Indian owners Venky's, the English newspaper 'Daily Mail' reported.
