Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition smartphone in India today. This smartphone is a part of the Redmi Note 15 series, which also includes the Redmi Note 15 5G, the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G. It replaces the Redmi Note 15 5G as the base model in the series.
Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition specifications and features
The Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition features a curved edge design. At the back you get either a faux leather or a plastic back panel. It ships with IP65 + IP66 water and dust resistance and has an in-display fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock for security.
On the front, this smartphone gets a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display with a screen refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. The display also comes with TUV Rheinland certification.
The Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset that is coupled with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS2.2 storage space. It runs Android 15-based HyperOS 2. Xiaomi has promised to provide four years of software updates and six years of security updates to this smartphone.
Coming to the cameras, the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition sports a dual camera setup at the back, which includes a 50MP dual AI primary camera with Light Fusion 400 sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it has a 20MP selfie camera. For audio users get dual speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio.
The Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition has 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct for connectivity and it is backed by a 5,800mAh battery with support for 45W Turbo Charging feature.
The Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition is available in three colour variants -- Crimson Reserve, Frosted White and Carbon Black.

The Redmi Note 15 Special Edition 5G costs RS 19,999 in India for the 6GB + 128GB variant. The 8GB + 128GB variant costs ₹21,999 while the 8GB + 256GB variant costs ₹23,999.
As a part of the launch, Xiaomi is offering a discount of ₹2,000 on payments made using the ICICI Bank cards. The company is also providing an introductory discount of ₹4,000 to the buyers, which will reduce the prices further and make it more affordable for interested buyers.
As far as availability is concerned, the Redmi Note 15 Special Edition 5G will be available for purchase in India via Flipkart and Xiaomi India's online store starting April 7, 2026.
