How we review products
At HT Tech, our job is simple but serious: to help people make better decisions about the technology they spend their money on. We review everything from mobile phones and laptops to soundbars, TVs, earbuds, air fryers, dashcams, hair tools and more, but no matter the product, our approach stays the same. We believe that good reviews come from honest testing, real usage, and writers who truly understand the category they're reviewing.
Every product that arrives at our desk, whether sent directly by a brand, purchased independently from Amazon or Flipkart, or sourced through our own testing budget, goes through a consistent evaluation process. We don't rely on specifications or promotional claims. We rely on how the product performs in the hands of our reviewers, in the environments real people use them.
Testing Built Around Expertise
We assign reviews based on strength, experience and familiarity. Smartphones, for instance, one of our most detailed and demanding categories, are handled by Shaurya, Amit, Debashis and Ayushmann, people who test phones year-round and know exactly how to separate substance from marketing polish. Earbuds go to Boudhaditya and Bharat, who have an ear for tuning and comfort. Home audio products like speakers and soundbars land with Bharat, Amit, Ayushmann and Boudhaditya. Our process isn't a checklist of synthetic benchmarks, although we do run them where they matter. What truly defines an HT Tech review is how the product behaves in daily life.

Technology can be complicated, but our job is to make it clearer, not more confusing. We avoid jargon whenever possible, and when something technical matters—a HEPA filter, a CADR rating, Dolby Vision, ANC modes, sensor sizes—we explain it in plain English. The reader should always understand not just what a feature is, but why it matters to them.
