Alexander Zverev downs Hyeon Chung to reach Munich Open tennis final
Alexander Zverev moved closer to a successful title defence at the Munich Open tennis tournament as he defeated Hyeon Chung in the semi-finals on Saturday
Defending champion Alexander Zverev booked his place in the final of the ATP tournament in Munich with an impressive straight sets win over South Korea’s Hyeon Chung in Saturday’s semi-final.
Zverev, the top seed, put in an assured display to seal a 7-5, 6-2 victory in one hour, 31 minutes to claim his first win against Chung at the third attempt.
The 21-year-old Zverev has set up an all-German final.

He will face either Philipp Kohlschreiber, who won the Munich title in 2007, 2012 and 2016, or Maximilian Marterer.
Kvitova wins in Prague
Petra Kvitova won her third title of the year as she fought back from a set down to beat Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu 4-6 6-2 6-3 in the Prague Open final on Saturday.
The Czech second seed got off to a flying start and took a 4-1 lead in the opening set but Buzarnescu battled back to break Kvitova’s dominance, winning the next five games to clinch the set.
Kvitova roared back in front of a raucous home crowd, using her powerful forehand to pin Buzarnescu back in the second set and broke the Romanian’s serve three times to force a decider.
