World No 1 and arguably one of the greatest women’s tennis players of all-time, Serena Williams pleasantly surprised two fans late on Sunday night by making their dream come true.

The two men were playing a game of tennis in San Francisco’s Mission District when Serena walked up to them and challenged the winner to a game.

Serena, out on a walk with fiancé Alexis Ohanian and dog Chip, updated the entire proceedings to her Snapchat account.

The 35-year-old, who most recently won the Australian Open to become the most successful women’s player in the Open era, initially thought about asking the guys for a game just to surprise them and record their reaction for her social media account.

She did eventually take to the court although she had her reservations since she was not dressed appropriately and hadn’t stretched out properly.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion went through with her challenge but not before reminding her fans not to play in boots which she was about to do.

Serena played a few shots with one of the guys, cracked a few jokes and posed for a photograph before addressing her fans at home: “The moral of the story is: You never know when I could be coming to a tennis court near you.”
