Marin Cilic booked his place in the final of the Australian Open when he won his semi-final clash against Britain’s Kyle Edmund in straight sets, in Melbourne on Thursday. Cilic won 6-2, 7-6 (4), 6-2.

The Croatian tennis star broke Edmund early on in the match and had little trouble in winning the opening set 6-2.

The second set was a tighter affair and went into a tiebreaker after they duo was locked at 6-6.

Cilic clinched the tiebreaker 7-4 to take go two sets up against the 23-year-old Edmund.

The third set was won by Cilic in comfortable fashion, with the 29-year-old Croat breaking his opponent twice to take it 6-2.

Cilic will take on the winner of the semi-final between Roger Federer and Hyeon Chung in Sunday’s title clash.
