MP pollution board asks Essar to pay 10 cr for spillage

The compensation was demanded in a letter dated August 14 written by the board to the power company, a copy of which was reviewed by HT.

Singrauli shares area with Uttar Pradesh, where it falls in Sonbhadra district. The region in the two states, considered backward, has about 10 thermal power plants having a combined capacity of 21,000 megawatts –the largest for one region.
