Day after Mariam Thresia’s canonisation, Kerala surgeon questions saint’s miracle

Dr N Sulphi, secretary of the Kerala unit of the Indian Medical Association said the medical community is opposed to the stamp of approval for a miracle to elevate a person to sainthood.

Kerala nun Mariam Thresia declared a saint by Pope Francis

The nun from Kerala was canonised along with English Cardinal John Henry Newman, Swiss laywoman Marguerite Bays, Brazilian Sister Dulce Lopes and Italian Sister Giuseppina Vannini.

Saint from God’s Own Country: Sister Mariam Thresia’s life and times

Kerala nun Mariam Thresia to be declared a saint by Pope Francis today

The nun will be canonised during a mass at St Peter’s Square .along with John Henry Newman from England, Italy’s Josephine Vannini, Swiss Marguerite Bays and Brazilian Irm Dulce Pontes.
