Eco-friendly toy train flagged off at Nandankanan Zoo in Bhubaneswar

Addressing the media, Deputy Director of Nandankanan Zoological Park, Sanjeet Kumar said, "The toy train, which will run on the batteries has facilities of five coaches comprising 72 seats in addition to two wheelchairs for disable person."

Odisha's Nandankanan Zoo reopens for visitors after 3 months

"Our priority is to keep everyone safe from Covid, be it animals or people. We want people to enjoy and learn about nature. Covid norms like social distancing, mask-wearing and sanitisation are being taken care of. Those flouting the Covid norms will be fined," said the Deputy Director of the Zoo.

Bird flu confirmed in poultry farm of Odisha veterinary college, all birds to be culled within 1 km

Once the infected area is sanitised, the poultry bird traders can start restocking within 1 week. As a precautionary measure, the walk-through aviary of the Nandankanan Zoo will be closed to visitors from January 28 until further orders.

Secretary of Fisheries and Animal Resources department, R Raghu Prasad said from Tuesday all the poultry birds within 1 km radius of the infected site will be culled and buried to contain the infection.(AP PHOTO.)

Conflict on rise as animal space shrinks
