Panjab University approves new syllabus as per NEP

Under the new policy, candidates pursuing a UG degree can opt for different major and minor subjects; they can, if they wish to do so, exit the degree after the first year (or first two semesters) and receive a UG certificate

UGC releases draft framework for 4-yr undergrad courses

Under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, universities and colleges will now offer 4-year undergraduate degrees with multiple exit and entry options. Several universities, including JNU and Delhi University, have already decided to adopt these programmes from this year.

The four year UG programme is divided into eight semesters and students will require 160-176 credits for a degree with honours/research. (HT FILE)

The curriculum framework was ratified by the EC after it was passed by the academic council (AC) on Wednesday. While 11 elected members of the AC dissented against the proposal, three EC members recorded their dissent to the proposal on Friday
